PERCOGESIC INGREDIENTS ARE DIFFERENT.
PERCOGESIC Active Ingredients are Acetaminophen(an analgesic) and Phenyltoloxamine Citrate(an antihistamine).

This *stuff*, with Percogesic label, is Acetaminophen with Diphenhydramine HCI antihistamine in it.

I was provided Percogesic by a physician in the late 1980's and have been taking it when needed ever since. It is a marvelous product that works, for me, when nothing else will reduce the pain to tolerable levels without making me stupid.

I *know* the Percogesic product and it does NOT contain the antihistamine Diphenhydramine HCI. While Phenyltoloxamine Citrate is also an antihistamine the two antihistamine drugs work differently. This product may work as good for you as the original but it may not. I tried a WalMart "percogesic" version once because I had no Percogesic and had a lot of pain. It made me sick.Other reviewers have stated that the so-called extra strength does not work as good as the original. So, consumers should be aware that what is now marketed as Percogesic is *not* the original product and may not be as good.( You also only get 60 caplets as opposed to 90 tabs in the original for the same price. ...)

HITH the FDA lets them get by with this is beyond me.

Why would they do this?
Because these are *caplets* and to make caplets rather than tabs requires a different formulation. ...
IOW, TO SELL YOU SOMETHING ... !
